Harris Teeter SDs 1/6/10

P1070749SUPER DOUBLES! Oh how I have missed our couponing events…the Holidays are fantastic for rebates but very slim on the “super double” and “triple” coupons. I’m so glad they are back! I *may* have shed a tear or two on December 31st when about 75% of my coupons expired, leaving me with a meager few to start off the new year. But it’s ok! A little free or cheap is better than nothing free or cheap! Here are some of my Happy Savings from today…

Spent: $3.64  Saved: $58.11. Here is what I bought:

(3) canisters Lysol Wipes: on sale $2. Used $1/1 coupon from this week, x2= FREE

(3) Oikos organic greek yogurt: $1.89. Used $1/1 coupon from this week, x2= FREE

(1) Dawn Direct Foam dishliquid: $2.99. Used $1.50/1 coupon from a coupon booklet I sent away for, x2= FREE

(3) Beechnut “Let’s Grow” meals: clearance .94c. Used $1/1 coupon from this weeks= FREE (in fact I think they each gave me .06c overage, but I wasn’t counting on it)

(2) Holiday Celestial Seasonings tea: clearance $1.79. Used $1/2 coupon from paper x2= .79c each

(2) packs HT Chicken Breasts: on sale buy 1 get 2 free. Used $1/1 poultry wine tag x2= ~.32c each

(4) boxes Special K cereal: on sale $2.50 ea. Used $1/2 coupon from this weeks paper x2= $1.50 ea. However…

Harris Teeter is running a Kellogg Promo: Buy 4 products, get $5 back instantly at register.

So I purchased 4 boxes, $1.50 each= $6 total. Subtract the instant $5, paid $1 total, or .25c for each.

PLUS, there is a promo right now from Kelloggs where if you buy 5 boxes of specially marked packages of Special K, you can send in for a $10 voucher for jeans. So I essentially paid (or will have paid when I buy my fifth box) $1.25 to receive $10 back. Wahoo!!

Health Note: Well, if you are familiar with our dietary rules, you know we don’t eat high fructose corn syrup. Unfortunately, the so called “healthy” Special K has this as its 6th ingredient so I will not be eating these cereals, just taking off their tokens for the Jean voucher. But never fear! I can take these boxes of cereal to a “Stockpile swap” and trade them for something our family will use, like brown rice, applesauce, crackers, etc.

Here’s to living- happier, healthier more FRUGAL lives!
